About Me

Gabriola Pack Walk and Play is a dog pack walking service that aims to provide exercise, socialization and companionship for furry friends on Gabriola Island. I created this business inspired by Ucluelet Dog Service’s model where I’d sent my two golden retrievers for a number of years before moving to Gabriola. GPW combines my passion for animals and love for the outdoors; I am excited to turn this dream into reality.

I've had animals since I was a kid and hauled home every critter that's needed a helping hand along the way. Rescue has been a big part of my life as I’ve flight parented, fostered and nursed along many a creature from Nepal to Egypt to Mexico to Caymans to the Canadian Arctic and, of course, in BC too.

Before I opened this business, I worked for Parks Canada and the Canadian Wilderness Service for nearly a decade. I was lucky enough to have a relocation bring me to Gabriola Island where, as Kathryn says, “ambition goes to die.” Looking to get away from my desk, I moved on from that work and opened this business. I couldn’t be happier!
